
Navigation service is one of the basic services of Technical Support Directorate of “ARMATS” CJSC and provides flight navigation services in the airspace of the RA. Navigation equipment provides the crews with information on the position and flight direction of the aircraft in the airspace of the RA.
The Navigation Service consists of two divisions: en-route and aerodrome. The en-route navaids division provides the aircraft with navigation information in the airspace of the RA.
The aerodrome navaids division provides the aircraft with navigation information in the terminal area, during approach, landing and take-off.
Navigation service is provided by the following navaids:
The following communication centers, which are located out of the airport territory, are included in navigation service:
Transmitting Radio Center (HF and VHF)
VHF Remote Center “Mravyan” (H=2850m)
VHF Remote Center “Andranik” (H=2250m)
The Remote Centers are located on the mountain heights and provide uninterrupted controller-pilot communication during the flights in the northern and southern flight regions of airspace of the RA.
Navigation service includes the following functions:
Technical maintenance of navaids
Development of navigation service
At present the specialists are working on the following items:
Development of new documents in compliance with ICAO standards and rules
Creation of National CNS/ATM Plan
Modernization and improvement of the technical performance of the equipment.
Replacement of VHF Radio Stations (8.33, VDL)
