 Modernization of DVOR/DME in the airport of Gyumri
In September 2009 in airport “Shirak” a new equipment of “Thales” company has been implemented (has been put into operation), which owing to its larger capacity enables to provide the DVOR/DME operation both in aerodrome zone and en-route.
Integration into CRCO
The Republic of Armenia is a member state of EUROCONTROL and a Party of Multilateral Agreement regarding Route Charges. Since March 1, 2009 the RA technically has been integrated in the Route Charging System and the planning of the costs and the charges of en-route expenses carries out in cooperation with the Central Route Charges Office (CRCO) of EUROCONTROL.
“Modernization of VHF communication network, with 8.33 kHz channel spacing”
Since 2008 the VHF radio stations providing ATC communication channels have been fully modernized. The equipment produced by “Park Air Systems” is mainly used here. At the same time, this year the modernization process of primary multiplexers and radio relay communication with implementation of digital microwave radio relay stations CFM-7-LM and CFQ-7-LM produced by “SAF Technika AS” will be completed.
Safety Culture Assessment
In 2008 a project on “Safety Culture Assessment” was initiated with the support of EUROCONTROL. At the first stage of that project the current situation was analyzed by means of special procedures, particular critical directions were detected and corresponding recommendations were worked out.
In 2009 the second stage of the project began, during which the development and realization of arrangements began to improve the situation.
