FUNCTIONAL

The object of aeronautical information service is to ensure the flow of information necessary for the safety, regularity and efficiency of international and national air navigation within the Yerevan FIR.

In 2005 AIS of Armenia has implemented Quality Management System and get a certificate of ISO 9001:2000. And since that time AIS operations are realized in accordance with international QMS.

Armenian AIS has fully migrated into EAD as data User from 10 th May 2007.
AIS Armenia as Data Provider is responsible for :

Entering and managing Static Data in the EAD (SDO DP)
Publishing AIP, AIP Amendments, AIP Supplements, AICs and Charts
Managing the electronic library with AIP, AIP Amendments, AIP Supplements, AICs and Charts
Creating and publishing national dynamic aeronautical information (NOTAM) through EAD (INO DP).

AIS of Armenia realizes the following main functions:

Conduction, publication and distribution of Aeronautical information, concerning Yerevan FIR, in accordance with international standards and in compliance with Aviation law of RA and other aviation normative documents.
Provision of aeronautical information for all users: crews, air traffic operators.

All information is based, conducted, published and distributed in the form of Integrated Aeronautical Information Package, which consists of the following elements:

AIP (Aeronautical Information Publications) and e-AIP on CD-ROM
AIP AMDT (AIP Amendments)
AIP SUP AIP (Supplements)
NOTAM and PIB (Notice to Airman, and Pre-flight information bulletin)
AIC (Aeronautical information circular)
Checklist and Summaries.

AIS of RA consists of:

Publication Department
BOF - Briefing Office (Integrated Briefing 3-rd Level is implemented)
NOF - International NOTAM office.

Publication Department is responsible for publication of AIP of the Republic of Armenia in ring-binder and an electronic AIP on CD-ROM in XML (Extensible Markup Language) format for electronic exchange between computers, HTML ( Hypertext Markup Language) format for publishing on WEB and for easy reading from CD-ROM, PDF is an ICAO Annex 15 standard format for paper version, AIP AMDT, AIP SUP, AICs and NOTAM Summaries, for publication of aeronautical charts, and in addition for exchange of Aeronautical information in form of AIP or in other forms with foreign countries, users.

Briefing Office provides the crews and airspace operators with all necessary aeronautical information, FPL and all related messages.

International NOTAM office is conducted the following functions:

The issuance and distribution of international NOTAMs series “A” via AFTN to airports, ground navigational services, airspace operators and to foreign NOFs, concerning the airspace of the Republic of Armenia.
Reception, modification and introduction of NOTAMs of other countries into a database, provision of PIBs to crews.
Conduction of AIPs of other countries.
