GEN 1.4  Entry, transit and departure of cargo

1  Customs requirements concerning cargo and other articles

1.1 The following documents are required for the clearance of goods through customs: Air cargo manifest, invoice, agreements, certificates, licences.
1.1.1 No documents are required in respect of shipments not exceeding the values more than 50kg and/or 500US dollars (luggage), 2 liters of alcoholic drinks, 1kg coffee, 400 cigarettes, 5kg meat, fish, 0.5kg caviar, 1kg different food.
1.1.2 The documents must accompany the shipment. No advance notification required. All air cargo shipments are free of consular formalities and charges, except ancient articles and articles of culture. If it is required certificates must be presented. The import of things of pornographic content and goods of expired date is not permitted.
1.2 As regards air cargo simply being transhipped from one flight to another flight at the same airport, under customs supervision up to the other airports. In the case of cargo and other articles being transferred to another international airport in Armenia no procedures must be adhered to.
1.3 No clearance documents are required with respect to goods retained on board an aircraft for on-carriage to a destination outside Armenia.
1.4 Upon exportation the following documents are required for the clearance of shipments to be exported by air: invoice, agreements, for articles of arts and arms clearances are required.

2  Agricultural quarantine requirements

The following agricultural materials being imported and exported and carried in transit through the Republic of Armenia and subjected to a compulsory phytosanitary and quarantine examination:

- the seeds of crop plants and wild plants,

- living plants and their parts (seedings, cuttings, tubers, etc.),

- bread and forage grains, fresh and dried up fruits, vegetable, cotton fibre and other fibre crops, raw materials as well as raw tobacco and fresh candies,

- all live cultures of fungi, bacteria and viruses as well as every kind of live entomological objects,

- all kind of collections of insects and plants and seed diseases as well as herbaria,

- wood materials (barked and unbarked),

- Bedding and forage,

- Baggage’s and parcels containing plant ingredients.
The importation and exportation of the plant ingredients in/from the Republic of Armenia is permitted, if a certificate is available issued by the State Plants Quarantine inspection of the Republic of Armenia.

In case of discovering materials subjected to quarantine, they must be presented to:

- disinfection (in the owner’s judgement),

- abolition or returning to the country exported from,

The airplane, by which the infected baggage has been carried, is subjected to disinfection in a prescribed order.

The inspectors of the Border Veterinary Control Inspection Point are liable to take samples for phytosanitary examination due to the functioning order.
